Notice of Change to Passbook Account Transaction Processing of Electronic Transactions
Effective April 1, 2025, as a result of regulatory requirements. we will no longer allow electronic fund transfers (such as ACH) to process through passbook accounts. We strongly encourage our passbook customers to convert to statement savings, which allows for electronic funds transfer processing.
Mobile Deposit Instructions
- Download and Install the Mobile Banking App:
Ensure that you have the official mobile banking app from the Bank of FSM installed on your smartphone.
- Log In:
– Open the app and log in using your banking credentials (username and password).
– Select Mobile Deposit
– Select the option in the menu on the left side for “manage money”
– Select “Mobile Deposit”
– Click on “Deposit a check”
– Then click “allow” in the pop up window for the digital banking to access your photos.
- Choose the Account:
Select the account into which you want to deposit the money.
- Enter the Amount:
Enter the amount written on the check.
- Take Photos of the Check:
The app will prompt you to take a photo of the front and back of the check. Make sure the check is on a flat, well-lit surface, and hold your phone steady for clear images.
- Verify and Confirm:
Double-check that all the information is correct, then confirm the deposit. The app may show a confirmation screen or send you a confirmation message.
- Retain the Check:
Keep the physical check for a few days to ensure the deposit goes through without any issues. After that, you can destroy the check according to your bank’s recommendations.
- Check Deposit Status:
You can check the status of your deposit in the app’s transaction history to ensure it has been processed successfully.
